Market Run is not a classic warehouse management system. It does not do bin locations, barcode scanning, or moving stock between sites. Here is what it does do: pick each day's orders from live stock, build the buy list, plan the round for your own vans, and prove every drop. It is built for one site, not a distribution network.
We say this first because most buyers find it out in week two, after they have signed something. A classic warehouse management system is built for a site with tens of thousands of bin locations, several buildings, and staff who scan a barcode to move stock from shelf to shelf. Most food wholesalers do not run a site like that. Market Run is not built for one.
It is built for the job a one-site wholesaler actually has: know what is in the cold store, pick it correctly, buy what is short, load the right van, and prove it arrived.
What it does instead
- 01Picking. A sheet built from live stock, in the order a picker actually walks it. A short is flagged the moment it happens.
- 02Stock. A live count for every product. It updates the moment something is picked, sold or wasted - not counted once a week.
- 03Buying. Every order rolls into one buy list, split by supplier. Stock already in the cold store is taken off first.
- 04Routing. The day's drops split across your own vans, chilled and ambient, in driving order.
- 05Proof. A signature, a photo, a time and a place, before a drop counts as delivered.
