Connected for orders. Templates wait on Meta
Yes. Market Run runs on the WhatsApp Business API and orders arrive on it today. Messages from kitchens land as priced order lines against the wholesaler's own catalogue, and replies go back out on the same thread. Automatic template sending is still waiting on Meta's approval; sending by hand works now.
What moves, and which way
| Direction | What |
|---|---|
| Comes in | Order messages, voice notes and photographs from kitchens, on the number they already use |
| Goes out | Confirmations, queries about a line nobody can place, and the link to the day's order |
| Goes out | Chases against an overdue invoice, drafted and waiting for a person to send |
What is true today
- Orders arrive on the WhatsApp Business API and are read into lines.
- Replies go out on the same thread, so the kitchen never learns a new place to look.
- The customer installs nothing, signs into nothing and creates no account. That is the doctrine, not a limitation.

Plainly
What comes next
- Message templates are awaiting Meta's approval. Until that lands, an outbound message outside the twenty-four hour window is sent by a person pressing send rather than automatically.
WhatsApp Business API, asked plainly
- Do my customers need the WhatsApp Business app?
- No. Kitchens send from ordinary WhatsApp, on the number they already message. The Business API sits on the wholesaler's side only. There is no app for the customer to install, no account to create and no portal to sign into.
- Can Market Run send WhatsApp messages automatically?
- Replies inside WhatsApp's twenty-four hour customer service window go out automatically. Messages outside that window need approved templates, and those are with Meta for approval now, so today an outbound chase or confirmation is written by the system and sent by a person.
- What happens to a voice note?
- A voice note is transcribed and read into order lines the same way a typed message is. Anything the catalogue has never held is held back and put to a person to name, rather than guessed at.
